A totally transparent sapphire case allows for unobstructed viewing of the record-breaking movement in this MP-05 “La Ferrari” Sapphire watch. The incredible carved sapphire case is a technical feat in itself, matched only by the technical prowess of the complex movement – designed and developed in house at Hublot. The movement was first unveiled in 2013 in a nontransparent MP-05. It offers an incredible 50 days of power reserve thanks to the 637 mechanical components. The sapphire case for this watch took more than 600 hours to complete and consists of seven individual parts machined from seven blocks of sapphire. Just 20 pieces will be made. Retail: $575,000.

Cuervo y Sobrinos Torpedo Pirata GMT
A truly chic flagship timepiece, the Cuervo y Sobrinos Torpedo Pirata GMT blends the brand’s rich Caribbean island history with top-notch Swiss watchmaking prowess. The islands were renowned for the treasure hunters and pirates, as well as explorers, and this watch offers a rebellious yet romantic side that recalls that spirit. The round case shape is meant to emulate a cannon mouth and nautical navigation gauges; the curved lugs with screws recall the prow of a ship. The crown is globe shaped. Powered by an automatic movement, the Torpedo Pirata GMT offers second time zone using 24-hour indication. The 45mm case is crafted of bronze, titanium and brushed steel for a superb look, the sapphire crystal is antireflective and the sapphire caseback allows for viewing of the movement. The watch is finished with a substantial strap in either a black alligator or ostrich. Retail: $6,500.
