W Motors has selected Dubai’s Al-Ain Class Motors to sell the Lykan Hypersport supercar. There are only seven scheduled for production, each costing roughly $3.4 million.
Now, we haven’t heard much about this product, but so far we like the numbers. The Lykan Hypersport has a bespoke carbon fiber monocoque passenger cell and a 3.8-liter flat-six. Manufacturer testing showed the horsepower at 770 and torque at 737 lb-ft. All this power is transmitted to the rear wheels from a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. With a 0-62 mph sprint time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 240, the car is looking to compete with the megacars like the Bugatti Veyron and Koenigsegg Agera R.
W Motors knows the price tag is high so they jacked up the car with jewelry and other precious metals. According to W, the headlights have incorporated titanium blades and 420 diamonds. Company founder Ralph Debbas collaborated with engineers at Magna Steyr, Studio Torino and Carrozzeria Viotti to create “Arabia’s first supercar.” W Motors plans to make an even lighter car — this one weighs about 3,000 pounds — called the Lykan Supersport.
